Cyber Monk acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Cyber Monk acknowledges that sovereignty was never ceded and supports the establishment of treaties with Australia’s First Nations.

Why Acknowledgement of Country and Reconciliation means a lot to me?
I am of colonial stock – to the best of my knowledge I have no First Nations heritage. However, it is impossible to live and travel within Australia without feeling a strong connection to the country. You hear the ancient whispers everywhere – if you listen. It is something to be respected.
However, I think the following puts it best…
Here in Australia we’re fortunate enough to have one of the richest and oldest continuing cultures in the world. This is something we should all be proud of and celebrate.
Professor Tom Calma AO,
Chancellor University of Canberra (Kungarakan Nation Elder)
It makes no sense to me that First Nations are not celebrated and appropriately represented in Australia’s modern history. We need our indigenous voices heard, and all Australians need to walk side by side with the traditional owners into our collective future.
Why Acknowledgement and Reconciliation means a lot to cyber?
Community, respect and connection are key to us being able to thrive in the cyber domain. If, as a nation, we are unable to foster and achieve this for something as morally unambiguous as recognition and redress for our First Nations people, then what hope do we do we really have in the complex realm of cyber.
